Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Originating in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. All Pella® products meet or exceed ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How does this impact you? Not only could you find a decrease to your heating and cooling charges, you can help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are each specifically designed and custom-built for your home, meaning no two projects are identical. Our broad spectrum of products make it nearly impossible to discuss pricing without first bearing in mind your needs, wants and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who can give you a quoted project price after seeing the project site itself. To expedite the quoting procedure, your Pella® sales representative is armed with a computer and a portable printer so that they can provide you with all the quote information you’ll need—just as soon as the sales representative has been given the opportunity to consider the requirements of the project and aligns them with your vision.

In addition to offering a wide variety of first-rate products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you excellent window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Tucson area home while you do it.

Can I paint my vinyl windows?

The benefit of Pella's® vinyl windows is that you won’t have to. You can order the windows the color you want. We do not recommend painting your vinyl products, as this will terminate your warranty. Some paint companies advertise that their paint can stick to vinyl, but it could wreck your windows if the wrong paint is applied or done incorrectly.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We recommend that you should use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning solution or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they could produce streaks or create a film that magnetizes moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses contract installers who are certified to install Pella windows and doors. They must complete a thorough set of training courses so that your windows and doors are installed properly and meet Pella’s strict warranty guidelines. We find the best Tucson-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Prior to beginning our relationship, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your local Pella branch provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t provide. Our specialty is selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Using a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your project will have the knowledge of our whole team. We commonly use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. Simply contact our office, your sales representative, or our project manager with any questions or concerns you may have and we will get to work resolving the issue.
